Abstract

The control circuit for the liquid crystal display is characterised by the fact that the excitation voltage is provided by a square wave generator followed by a frequency divider. The excitation signal furnished by the frequency divider is permanently applied to one of the electrodes (2) of the display element. The second electrode (3) receives either the excitation signal or a signal in phase opposition to that of the excitation voltage. In one of the supply lines to one of the electrodes a capacitor is connected in series with this line. The second electrode (3) is connected to the output of an EXCLUSIVE OR logic (4, 5) circuit one of whose inputs receive the excitation voltage the other a logic control signal.
