Abstract

The pallet has upper and lower sheets separated by parallel runners. The wheels are fitted to blocks which are inserted into the spaces formed at each end of the pallet. Each block is in two halves (2, 2') whose centre portions overlap. Each half block carries a pivotal arm (3) supporting an axle for a wheel. The wheels are raised by placing a bar (6) in a socket (7) in each arm and turning this through 90 deg.. When lowered the wheels raise the pallet and are locked in position by ratchet and pawls (8).
