Abstract

The arrangement consists of a motor (11) with a drive shaft (19) and a bracket (12) on which the motor is mounted above the lapping plate. A coupling connects the shaft to a workpiece holder (22). The bottom end of the shaft is spherical and has a cross pin which transmits the drive torque to the coupling. The workpiece holder consists of a metal disc, to the bottom of which the workpiece is attached. A metal disc is mounted on top of the workpiece holder which contains a conventional universal coupling. The workpiece holder can be weighed down with metal rings or with weights placed symmetrically around the drive shaft. The motor can be hinged away to enable the lapping plate to be removed.
