Abstract

Two scraper blades (2, 3)are positioned transversely across the width of the belt (1), the blades being spaced apart and held in side arms (4). These arms have a rod (6) through their centres, parallel to the blades and forming a pivot in bearings (7) each side, these being mounted on swinging arms (8) and pivoting (9) on the conveyor frame. Springs (10, 11) are used to load the arrangement against the belt face and pads (12) on one blade bear on the belt to prevent the blades touching the belt. Each blade has angled edges, when one side is worn, the other side can be used only by turning about the pivot.
