Abstract

Injection mould for elongate connectors comprises heating elements, placed along the side walls of the mould cavity and as close as possible to these side walls. Cooling water channels are provided in both halves of the mould to maintain their respective temps. at constant values. Pref. the heating elements are placed immediately adjacent to the joint plane between the two halves, and each one has a length less than that of the side walls of the connector and is centred relative to the median plane of its respective side wall. Deformation of the connector due to internal stress is thus rectified by reheating the outer walls of a deformed connector in a zone situated as close as possible to the plane of the joint, and by acting rapidly so that the temp. does not rise in the whole of its mass.
