Abstract
A electronic timing device for a toaster is made up of a timing unit and a release mechanism. Time control is exercised through variable potentiometer (27) and a capacitor (18) both of which regulate the threshold of the release mechanism. When the thyristor is triggered the electrolytic capacitor (14) discharges through the relay coil (11) which when energised disconnects the source of power supply and operates the ejection mechanism. The circuit includes three transistors, the capacitor (18) being connected between the base and collector terminals of the first transistor. The latter terminal is connected through a diode (24) to the emitter of another transistor, the base of which leads to the tapping point of the potentiometer (27).
