Abstract
Good linearity between the electric current and the displacement of the control spool, good dynamic behaviour and low susceptibility to faults are to be achieved with the proportional valve. A plunger (7) is suspended in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the electromechanical transducer (2) by means of two spring members. The plunger carries a permanent magnet in the centre and passes through two exciting coils arranged fixed to the housing on either side of the permanent magnet. The control spool (5) is designed as a follow-up piston opposite an end face (8) of the plunger, the follow-up control being effected by means of a nozzle (9) located at a distance from this end face and firmly connected to the control spool. A control flow diverted from the main hydraulic flow passes through this nozzle (9).
