Abstract

Door frames of rectangular hollow sections (6, 9) have latch catch boxes (8) installed in each vertical at the fabrication stage, thus permitting their use for left or right handed openings, and featuring an inner face (9) to the section which incorporates locally detachable areas whereby the catch box is exposed and made functional, with the non functional units on the opposed post remaining concealed. Each vertical is allocated two vertically interspaced bosex foir latch and lock tenons respectively. Detachable areas of the inner (9) are contrived by providing weakening grooves on its periphery. Boxes are of vertically elongated rectangular section with half rounded closing sectors top and bottom, the rear walls in these latter areas being strengthened to locate fixing screws.
