Abstract

The mat and flexible plastic sheet, of e.g. PVC are stiched together at their edges (e.g. by overcast seam or machine-quilted braid) except on one side. In the pocket formed by the mat and plastic sheet may be inserted soundproofing materials, e.g. a pad of wadding, and reinforcing materials, e.g. a sheet of cardboard. The opening on one side of the mat facilitates aeration of its interior, and allows replacement of the soundproofing material which may consist in parts of several thicknesses one on top of the other, according to requirements.
