Abstract

The bicycle brake jaw has a body (2) pivoting on a wheel fork (1), with an arm (4) coupled to the control (5) and a mounting for a lining (9, 10). The latter is normally held clear of the wheel (13) by a spring portion (11) integral with the body and bearing against the fork. Body and spring portion can be of plastic, the latter having a metal core. The spring portion can be to the side of the body, or formed from a recess in it, so as to run parallel to it. Compared with conventional designs using separate return springs, the invention has the advantage of greater simplicity and reliability.
