Abstract

Filter body is clipped by a bayonet-type clip into a base unit so as to seal against a suitable sealing ring located in a retaining groove in the base. A pointed perforated tube extends into the filter medium from the outlet nozzle. A perforated cylinder extends between the cover and the base and is perforated throughout its surface area and contains a porous flexible container of filter medium e.g. carbon granules. The container is supported from underneath by a retaining disc held in position by a return spring. In order to put the filter into operation, a bag of filter medium is located inside the perforated cylinder and is then pierced by the pointed tube. The simple, easily maintained filter is suitable for filtering water, hydrocarbons, air, combustions gases etc.
