Abstract

The cashdesk area is completely enclosed, but has an opening in front of which is placed a mirror onto which an image is projected by means of a second mirror placed in front of the customer. Both mirrors are placed at a 90 deg. angle inside a steel casing. The mirror on the customer's side of the desk is protected by a pane of bullet-proof glass. Conversation between cashier and customer is carried out through an intercom and money, cheques, etc. are passed on a conveyor. A sliding steel door covers a cupboard containing the alarm controls and in the event of an attempted hold-up, the cashier slides the door across until the alarm controls are visible, at the same time closing off the opening in the desk.
