Abstract

The parent parent described a hip prosthesis having a femoral part with a spherical alumina head mounted on a metal (alloy) shaft and an acetabular part consisting of a concave Al2O3 hemisphere having a series ribs on its convex face. This addition patent provides a hip prosthesis with an acetabular piece which can be located even if the etch of the cotyla is relatively thin, with a sufficient number of anchoring heads which are deep enough to be fastened rigidly into their cavities by rapid reossification. All dislodgement of the parts can be avoided.
