Abstract
A wind power collection machine has a central structure which supports a vertical shaft which carries a rotor having arms each consisting of two parallel members mounted one above the other. The parallel members are joined by vertical members carrying hinges (5) supporting flaps (6) which are prevented from swinging outwards beyond an angle of 90 deg. by cords (7). When the rotor rotates the flaps (6) are folded across the arms, and so present large areas to the wind, or are on edge on to the wind with minimum air resistance.
