Abstract

A shower cubicle or dressing room formed by a folding curtain, has a simple mechanism for extending and folding the curtain and its supports. A circular plate (1) attached to the wall has a pulley mounted on it consisting of an internally threaded hub (3a) between two discs (4, 5) to form a groove (8) for a drive cord (6) to rotate the hub. A tube (10) extending from the outer disc (5) forms the outer part of a telescopic rail from which the curtain is suspended. The inner part (2) is a rod with threads (2a) one end passing through the hub. Thus, when the hub is rotated by the drive cord, the inner part extends. Closing the telescopic tube also folds the curtains. The inner part (2) may also carry a support tube (12). Two units at right angles can be used to form an L-shaped enclosure in a corner.
