Abstract

The purpose is to ensure that the door on a roasting oven cannot be opened while the interior temperature is above a predetermined level. When the single actuating components is in the operative position, it locks the oven door and switches on the current supply to the heating element keeping the locking action in force as long as the temperature is excessive, and releasing it only when the component is returned from the cleaning position to any other position that is chosen. The locking action is by a bolt turning about a horizontal axis and penetrating a slit let into the door working against a tension spring, with the bolting rod activated by a spring in the locking direction and by an electromagnet in the unlocking direction.
