Abstract

In a sack or bg for packing powdered or granular materials, are fabricated from a thermoplastic layer or film, of polygonal form when empty and having an opening on one side of the polygon and a heat-sealing seam joining the inner surfaces of the front and back wall running along a further side of the polygon, at least one air vent channel or passage is provided in the form of a local interruption of the heat-sealed seam, facilitating connection of the sack interior with the atmosphere or outside air, when the sack opening has been completely closed or sealed, by means of a barrier device which prevents the free pass age of a powdered or granular material contained in the sack into the surrounding air through the air channel. Provides a simpler and more economically produced air venting channel which permits only slight escape of the packed material than the air venting devices normally used in such sacks or bags.
