Abstract

The arrangement comprises a clamp (23) secured to a handlebar (14) of the bicycle and a switch actuating element (25) rotatably carried on the fixed clamped (23). The clamp is provided with a fixed electrical contact (31) and a movable electrical contact (32) is provided such that it moves into contact with the fixed contact in response to rotation of the rotary element. Spring means (33, 34) may be provided which pre-load the rotary element in one direction. The contacts (31, 32) may be separated by an elastomer member (33) loaded with conductive particles, such that, in relaxed condition, it is electrically insulating and in compressed condition conducting.
