Abstract

Textile sheet materials are selectively modified to achieve multicolour effects by impregnating with 30-150 wt. % of inert solvent (mixt.) and applying an uncoloured plastics material at (partly) sol. in the solvent, in dry, finely-divided form or as a soln., to selected places. The treated textile is then dried without applicn. of heat. Varied effects can be obtd. at lower cost than by known methods, e.g. applicn. of flock. Local hardening of the fabric is avoided by pre-impregnation with solvent.
