Abstract

The tow bar for a caravan has swan necked end followed by a straight rear portion, the latter having a hole for a connector with a spherical head and behind this a tapped hole for a locking screw, with a flat bar extending from each side of this region. A similar bar for a tractor drawn implement, has a hole through the junction between the curved and straight portions for a pin to secure a swinging connecting bracket, and the straight part is recessed to locate the cross strap secured by a threaded bolt. An alternative to this has a swan neck with a threaded extremity and a broader part behind it, with locating lugs and a special L shaped attachment bracket. Further variations of design include a universal adaptor with a cranked bar slotted one end.
