Abstract

The discharge indicator is for a set of accumulators supplying a number of motors, particularly the traction and pump motors of a forklift truck, and has a device measuring the voltage at the terminals initiating an alarm when this falls below a preset level. Means are provided to inhibit operation of the device when the traction motor is running, typically in the form of two auxiliary contacts on the forward and reverse contactor solenoid relays. Each contact is connected in series with the measuring device, opening when the corresponding contactor is closed. Alternatively, there can be voltage-sensitive detectors at the relay excitation terminals.
