Abstract

Drying tunnel with improved recycling of hot gases comprises a burner producing hot gases which are conveyed by a fan into the lower region of the tunnel and out at the bottom of the tunnel. The tunnel is divided into two chambers of which the chamber at the inlet end allows recycling of the gases in an upward direction via a trap door. Pref. a second opening is provided with a trap door and >=1 channel allowing recycling of the gases from the chamber at the other end of the tunnel above the chamber and back down towards the outlets. Instead of at the middle end of the inlet chamber, the fan may be located at the outlet from the burner, with the second trap door and with >=1 channels conducting the recycled gases above the fan.
