Abstract

The coupling, which is intended to transmit the drive from an electric motor to the window raising mechanism of a car, consists of a worm wheel (1) driven by a worm (4). The inner surface (2a) of the rim (2) is provided with three equally spaced indentations (6) which match teeth (7) of the wheel (5) which is mounted by means of splines on the shaft (3) of the window mechanism. The plastic wheel (5) is provided with three teeth (7) which are joined to the wheel by flexible arms (8) and (9). When the window glass meets any obstacle the teeth (7) are deflected out of the indentations (6), allowing the drive to slip and prevent the electric motor being overloaded.
