Abstract

Two impellers on opposite sides of the fan are driven by a single motor, the two impellers being controlled by a clutch which allows the optional rotation of one or both impellers at a time. The clutch includes a movable spine sleeve which may engage with a grooved shaft so as to transfer the driving force to at least one of the impellers and cause its rotation or may be retracted to disconnect that drive. The other impeller may be fixed to the motor shaft.
