Abstract

The composite adsorbent consists of particles (I) of activated clay and fine active C powder (II) distributed on the surface of (I). The pref. particle size of (I) is 70-150 mu m and of (II) is 10-40 mu m, whilst the (I)-(II) wt. ratio is 5-3:1. (II) pref. consist of a soft C. For deodorising gas mixts., e.g. industrial waste gases, esp. in a gas stream transfer contact system. This adsorbent can adsorb various types of gases, i.e. hydrophibic or hydrophilic, non-polar or polar, satd. or unsatd. cpds. It has a strong absorption power and high capacity compared with homogeneous adsorbents and is also cheap.
