Abstract

The dynamometric transducer is used to measure a component of torque and is not sensitive to other torque components. It consists of a rectangular cross-section tensile sensing bar(2) fixed at one end (1) and also fixed to a case(8). It also has electrical resistance strain gauges(11, 12, 13, 14) to measure strain in the necked portion(21) of the sensing bar(2). The strain gauges(11, 12, 13, 14) are interconnected such that two gauges situated on one side of the bar have the same response for a load along an insensitive axis(Oy, Ox) of the bar. The strain gauges(11, 12, 13, 14) are also interconnected to respond to a load along the sensitive axis(Oz) of the bar.
