Abstract

A beach protection device to prevent erosion of the sand or to prevent oil passing onto the beach comprises a frame-work of steel tubes of which the vertical members are embedded in the sea bed at their lower ends. The frame-work supports a non-woven polyester fabric which is attached to the sea bed at its lower end. pref. by large staples. The fabric acts as a filter to prevent oil or sand etc. passing through it. The device is made of materials which do not rot.
