Abstract

The vehicle brake consists of two shoes (12A, 12B) on either side of a disc (11) fitted to a shaft to be braked. A cylinder (13) and piston (14) act on one shoe (12A) and an opposite hinged pice (15) which is rigidly connected with the cylinder acts on the second shoe (12B). A circlip (21) in a groove is used for locking the bridge. Movement of the piston (14) along the cylinder (13) towards the brake shoe (12A) causes sandwiching of the disc (11) between the shoes (12A, 12B) which lie between the caliper arms of the bridged piece (15) and cylinder (13).
