Abstract

The disc brake consists of a support (10) and a rotating disc (11) which is braked by shoes (12A) on either side of the disc. The support has a cheek (15) with two ears (16) and there is a rectangular housing for each shoe, open on one side. The brake shoes are held against the return faces of the support by a leaf spring (24) and there are also the usual guide pins. Two wire springs urge a brake actuator block (13) radially of the disc and against retainer stops on the support (10). The stops are formed by the inner ends of studs (27) screwed through tapped bores (26) in the support (10). The studs are easily unscrewed for removal of the brake actuator block.
