Abstract

Agricultural fungicidal compsns., effective against subcortical pathogenic bacteria in plants, contain 3-4 Cl chlorinated ethylene or 3-6 Cl chlorinated ethane and a fungicide selected from organic acid metal salts (and metal chelate complexes), organocopper fungicides (chlorine or sulphur series) or nitrogen-contg. organic fungicides. The novelty lies in the rapid sub-cortical penetration obtd. by use of the chlorinatd hydrocarbon, which is pref. used at twice as much (by wt.) as the fungicide technical prod. An agricultural insecticide which can rapidly penetrate to under-cortex when applied to plant and makes contact with pathogenic bacteria present the under-cortex and then kills them effectively.
