Abstract
The composite conductor rail has an aluminum section (2) with hard wearing stainless steel cover strip mechanically secured at its edges onto the section, and the top surface is rolled to obtain a smooth running surface. The cover strip has longitudinal deformations (8) which penetrate into the section (2). The cover strip edges can be secured by press rolling into grooves provided in the section (2), or alternatively by crimp-press rolling. Each longitudinal deformation (8) is a continuous 'V' sectioned groove.
