Abstract
A composite structure is formed by placing two strips of cladding metal between two slabs of base metal. The interface of the cladding metal is coated with a weld-preventing composition. The structure is heated to hot rolling temp. while the inside is protected from oxidation, hot rolled and single-strip reduced by over 80% under almost isothermal conditions and cooled. The structure is then separated into two clad strips by trimming its edges.
