Abstract

The element comprises a corrugated panel with an open trapezoidal cross-section and at least one flat base section. This base section is of greater thickness than the sloping sides and contaions steel reinforcement made of parallel lengthwise wires held apart by cross-wise wires. The manufacturing process starts with a panel of equal thickness which is formed into the required shape. while the panel is still warm, metal reinforcements are put in place and another layer of asbestos-cement placed on top. The panel is then placed in a mould and subjected to uniform pressure of at least 80 atmospheres.
