Abstract

The primary flanges are divided into two specially shaped flange profiles (1), to allow the pre-fabrication of even framework girders with continuous flanges in the workshop. The continuous secondary flanges (4) are connected on site, to form a framework. The flange profiles are canted, so that the two outer parallel parts allow simple connection by welding of the diagonals (3); while the two inner parts may be connected to the pre-fabricated girders via the secondary flange. In the work shop, several girders may be moved into an assembly position, joined together with hinges, and transported in the collapsed condition. On site, they are unfolded, so that the dowels engage easily into the apertures, and thereby allow the transmitting of vertical transverse forces.
