Abstract

The slide valve has a cylindrical body with mounting flanges at its ends. The body valve is made with two coaxial annular slots in the faces of enlarged portions which abut against the slide. These slots surround the conduit and contain inflatable ring seals connected to external tappings by which the seals may be inflated or deflated. During operation of the valve, pressure in the seals is released to allow afree sliding action but when the slide is in position, pressure is applied to inflate the seals and provide perfect sealing.
