Abstract

A bogie stabilising device for a railway vehicle consists of a shaft (6) which can rotate on the bogie frame parallel to the longitudinal vehicle axes. The shaft carries two arms (8) with their ends joined to the body of variable length rods (9). The rod (9) comprise two parts pivoted at their ends to the arms (8) and vehicle brackets (10) by universal joints to give complete freedom. The two parts telescope and contain springs which limit the extension or contraction of the rods to values which prevent the rods "bottoming" out.
