Abstract

The tops of the telescopic shock absorbers are fitted to the car body and are joined by a transverse beam (23) which is mounted on the shock absorber mountings using elastic blocks. The engine unit is held by struts (29) coupled to the transverse beam by elastic mountings. The elastic mountings are spaced along the beam in such a way w.r.t. the length of the beam to the end mountings, so that engine vibrations are effectively damped. The weight of the transmission unit is supported by elastic mountings on the chassis.
