Abstract

Free-flowing detergent powder, for washing textiles, having homogeneous powder particles consists of (i) a water-insoluble crystalline alumino-silicate zeolite molecular sieve with a monovalent cation, having a lattice structure with mainly equally large pores of size 3-10 A degrees and contg. 1-36 wt. % water, and (ii) an intrinsically tacky, water-soluble organic surfactant (II), in wt. ratio (I) : (II) 100-0.3:1 (20-0.5:1) esp. 1-0.9:1. Caking of (II) is prevented by (I); compsns. have high washing- and Ca-complexing powder, e.g. compsns. of 0.15% detergent have high activity in presence of 150 ppm Ca ions (as CaCO3); and the zeolites are non-polluting and attack neither textile nor machine.
