Abstract

The chair comprises a backrest and an extended seat, and the backrest (1) pivots on an axis roughly at the level of the patient's hips. It is supported by an arm (3) carrying rollers (12) working in guides (10) on a frame (4). A drive unit (13) pivot-mounted on the frame drives the rollers along the guides. The drive unit can be an electric motor in a rocking mounting (21), driving a screw working in a nut pivoting on the arm. The seat (2) can pivot on a spindle (5) on the frame, and there can be rollers on the end of the arm (3) tilting the seat at the end of the backrest movement.
