Abstract

The quartz controlled oscillator is capable of operating over a range of frequencies any one of which may be selected by the application of a voltage to a given section of the circuitry, via a single multipoint switch (T). The active element of the oscillator is a grounded base NPN transistor (Q1) feedback being obtained from a parallel RCL circuit in the collector, the inductance being tapped to the positive rail. The frequency controlling elements of the oscillator are in the emitter circuit and consist of series diodes (D1, D2, D3) and quartz crystal elements (Y1, Y2, Y3) selected by a negative voltage being applied to the diode to quartz junction. The number of such series circuits may be up to 20.
