Abstract

Measurement of a small amplitude vibrations in a plane surface immersed in a liquid, particularly the liquid metal coolant for a fast neutron reactor core, by emission of ultrasonic signals within the liquid towards the vibrating plane surface, the angle of incidence not exceeding 10 degrees, the demodulation and filtration of the reflected signals so that the frequency of the vibration of the surface can be isolated and the determination of the amplitude of the vibrations from the amplitude of the vibration frequency.
