Abstract

The under arm protection is an oval pad with a fold across the minor diameter which brings its two external faces (2) into contact with the skin. The external face of the pad has a layer of absorbant material (4) which is sufficiently thick to absorb the perspiration. There is also a thin layer (5) of abosrbant material which is impregnated with a bonding material (6) which joins it to the absorbant layer and is sufficient to prevent the passage of perspiration through the pad. The pad is pierced by a number of small holes (10) to ventilate the armpit, and the hole density is greatest along the fold line.
