Abstract

The valve has a cylinder (2), connected to a pressurised water supply, having an outlet (3) which can be closed by a piston (9). The piston is moved by a lever (14) on a float (10) and closed on a seat in the cylinder which has a soft membrane (6) on the outlet side of the seating. This soft membrane seats on a shoulder (5) in the cylinder. The holes in the orifice seat and the soft membrane are of the same diameter. Shock forces and wear are reduced by the soft seating.
