Abstract

The dielectric heating of a flat or cord section of polymer or rubber passes the material through one or several successive high frequency treating zones of differing section or dimensions with linked hf. energy, one or more of the zones being continuously rotated or moved periodically. Uniform energy distribution is obtd. in the treatment zones. The hf. treating zones suitably consist of two fixed hollow conductor sections and a square-section resonator chamber mounted on bearings. The sections are connected by couplings. A belt rotates one section. As the chamber rotates it causes continuous change of the reflected microwaves and uniform heating effect.
