Abstract

The system comprises an analogue-digital convertor, a transmission line for binary data, a decoder which reconverts the binary signal into the video signal, and a video receiver. In addition a recorder is provided, converting the first binary data signals into second binary data signals in accordance with a specified rule, so that a gamma correction value is produced for the system, trhough which a specified picture gamma value is obtained. The second binary data signals are applied to the decoder. The recorder converts the first signals with n bits corresponding to 2n input levels into second signals which define 2m output levels, with m greater than n.
