Abstract

Container for the reconstitution of lyophilised or powdered products from a solvent and the lyophilisate or powder comprises :- (1) a lower flask having a superior opening into which the lyophilisate or powder is placed, (2) a top flask having a deformable wall, a top opening and a bottom opening into which the solvent is placed, (3) a connection, with means to control flow between the top flask bottom opening and the lower flask, and is characterised by : - (4) a seal to isolate the solvent from the lyophilisate or powder (5) a tube passing through the top opening of the top flask the upper end of which terminates with a dropper and the lower end of which is bevelled or forms a drill and its wall has several openings ensuring communication between the inside of the tube and the inside of the top flask (6) a screw cap for the top opening of the top flask, and (7) a safety collar which at the desired time allows the cap to be screwed completely down so that the tube passing through it pierces the seal and connects the top and bottom flasks. The container is used partic. in the pharmaceutical industry for making liquid compositors from lyophilisates or powders.
