Cpds. of formulae (I), (II) or (III): (where A = CH2NH2, CH2NHCH3, (CH2N(CH3)2, NHCH3 or N(CH3)2; B and C = CH2NH3, CH2NHCH3 or CH2N(CH3)20) as mixts. of optically-active isomers or as pure isomers, including acid-addition salts of these cpds. with non-toxic-, pharmaceutically-acceptable (in)org. acids, are prepd. by reacting e.g. a cpd. (IV): (where n = 1 or 2; m = 0 or 1; Z = hydroxyl, halogen or another acid residue) with HN3 giving the prim. amine, which is opt. converted to the sec. or tert. amine in known ways. (I), (II) and (III) have anti-depressive- and tranquillising act. without the side-effects shown by imipramin.
