Abstract

Brushless synchronous motor, where the excitation (3) energy is transmitted to the rotor without the use of brushes. This is done via a thyristor circuit (5) incorporated in the excitation loop and running resistance (10) parallel to the excitation windings. The thyristor switch is connected to a first starting circuit (19), which has a frequency measuring circuit which reacts at a threshold value of the rotating pole voltage. There is also a starting pulse generator (20) which is phase dependent on the rotating pole voltage and is triggered at the instants that this voltage passes through zero. the frequency monitoring circuit will only be switched in when the frequency falls below the threshold level.
