Abstract

The hook system is for supporting loads on overhead conveyors. A hook (1) formed by end plates (3) mounted on a support (9a) pivots about an axis (7) for engagement or disengagement. The end plates are joined at the hook tips by a cross-bar (5). This cross-bar serves to prevent engagement of the hook if the load carrier and the conveyor are misaligned. The load carrier has a U-section piece (10) at the top. The ends of the arms of the U-section diverge, and act in conjunction with the cross-bar on the hooks. The base of the U-section is an inclined plate (13), this plate preventing engagement if the hook is moving in the wrong direction with respect to the carrier.
