Abstract

Arrangement for the continuous drying of pared or cut veneer between heat conducting conveyor belts in the direction of the grain or vertical to it. The machine consists of two metal conveyor belts and running on rollers. The belts must be thin and of a construction that allows air and steam to pass through. Below the first belt is an insulating plate, and a heating plate, which receives heating or cooling medium through pipes or flexible tubes. Above the second conveyor belt, are one or more heated gliding shoes, which by their weight push on the belt, which for better control of process heat in the elements can be varied from hot in the centre to cooler at the end. The two conveyor belts between which the veneer is transported can run at the same or at variable speeds to each other. In another arrangement the veneer may run through a series of conveyor belts.
